Why some of us are so tough on ourselves (and others) to succeed, to achieve,  to arrive? I’d like to share with you a TEDx talk by Alain de Botton about success.

Any success is bound to have some sort of sacrifice or failure somewhere else. Our ideas of success are rarely our own and we are bombarded by messages like you can achieve anything you put your mind to. These can be too harsh for a lot of us (low self-esteem, lack of motivation, depression, even suicidal thoughts…) as we experience time and time that we are bound to fail here and there, or just don’t have the energy or motivation to do anything.
Let’s watch Alain de Botton’s talk to obtain a more practical perspective on success, to be gentler to ourselves and others. Let’s make sure our ideas of success are our own.
